"The International Uyghur Forum", which focuses on the Uyghur genocide, kicks off on November 9 at the European Parliament in Brussels, the capital of Belgium.
The "International Uyghur Forum Global Response to the Uyghur Genocide" forum, organized by the World Uyghur Congress (WUC), Hasene International and the International Union of East Turkestan NGOs, kicks off on November 9 in the European Parliament.
The two-day meeting will be attended by some members of the European Parliament, human rights organizations, journalists, representatives of the World Uyghur Congress and the International Association of East Turkestan Organizations, as well as some researchers, experts and camp witnesses who have played an active role in raising awareness of the Uyghur genocide.
The U.S. government and some Western parliaments, including Canada, the U.K. and the Netherlands, have passed resolutions recognizing China’s aggression against Uighurs and other Muslims in East Turkestan as genocide and crimes against humanity.
A report released in August by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights came to the same conclusion that China may have committed crimes against humanity in East Turkestan.
