On the occasion of the anniversary of the East Turkistan Islamic Republic founded in Kashgar on November 12, 1933, and the East Turkistan Republic founded in Ghulja on November 12, 1944, Uyghurs from Turkey and European countries held various commemorative events.
Thousands of people attended the commemoration organized by the International Union of East Turkistan Organizations in Istanbul.
At a ceremony held at a stadium in Istanbul's Safaköy district, thousands of people commemorated their ancestors in an energetic and feisty mood and expressed their determination against Chinese oppression.
