Two months ago, a Uyghur brother of ours—a Turkish citizen residing in Saudi Arabia—went to Jeddah Airport to travel to Turkey to receive medical treatment near his family due to illness. Shortly before his flight, he fainted, and airport staff rushed him to the hospital for emergency care. After remaining unconscious in the intensive care unit for about a month and a half, the Turkish government sent a special ambulance plane to bring him back to Turkey. He was taken to Istanbul and admitted to the intensive care unit of the Çam and Sakura City Hospital.

Having faced genocide in his homeland of East Turkistan and been deprived of all human rights—forcing him into a life of diaspora—this Uyghur brother, living as a Turkish citizen, was transferred to Turkey via a special plane thanks to the exceptional care of the Turkish government. Through this event, we witnessed how cherished a Turkish-citizen Uyghur is in Turkey, even if they are oppressed and mistreated in their motherland.

On this occasion, on behalf of all Uyghurs in the diaspora, we express our sincere respect and gratitude to the Turkish government, as well as to the Saudi Arabian government for treating him with special privilege in the hospital.

We pray to Allah Almighty for a speedy recovery for our brother, who is still receiving treatment in intensive care.
